Voice Learning Centre, founded at the start of the twenty-first century, is a non-profit organization stichting dedicated to making the Art of Listening more widely available. It reflects a deliberate choice not to be part of a school or organization with recognized authority.

Ingrid Voermans organizes study groups on location and the Summer House. She is a voice educator and a speech therapist. Ingrid began her musical career in 1985 on the staff of the Ward Centrum Nederland. In 1988 she founded the choir school Schola Cantorum in Leidschendam, where she worked for many years as a teacher and conductor. Twenty years ago, she completed the three-year training course run by the Lichtenberg Institute for Functional Voice Training in Germany.

Ingrid was the first to bring the Lichtenberg method of instruction to the Netherlands and Flanders (in 1990). By now, many singers, instrumentalists, actors, and dancers in the Low Countries, both amateurs and professionals, have been exposed to the sound-oriented method of singing and playing. Many of them have chosen to delve deeper and learn more. Ingrid has also given seminars in the Netherlands, Flanders, England, and France and on Gran Canaria. She has made appearances as a guest teacher for organizations such as the Winchester Cathedral Choir, the Brockwood Park School, the jazz departments of the Antwerp and Groningen Conservatories, the Vronesteyn Seminary, and the Hague Acting Studio, and at various conferences for children’s choral music and speech therapy.
